We recently completed construction on a second floor additon and expansion of our house in San Anselmo. Needless to say, after construction the previously lush yard was destroyed - bare dirt! We saw Johnny's work a neighbors yard and was attracted to the design. After a site meeting, he followed up with a proposal and estimate very promptly. While we were very pleased with his design, we made a few changes which he enthausically incorporated. The best part was that he and his crew began work within a couple of weeks as promised and finished the project within 10 days! We are delighted with the results especially the metal vegi bins. The final price was very fair for the work done and was only slightly over the initial estimate - but that is because we added plants and scope. We are now enjoying our new yard and definitely recommend Bon Terra Landscapes.

Had a couple bad experiences with other landscapers. Based on all 5* reviews for Johnny on Yelp and Marin Mommies, it was time to make a change for a large scale project in our front yard. I knew the first time I met Johnny it was one of the best decisions I've made.
With past landscapers/contractors, I learned the hard way that the design itself is not the key to success for a project. Equally important, if not more critical, are problem solving skills, managing expectations, attention to detail, and working within a budget. Johnny is a master in all areas. Our project was very complex in size and scope involving retaining walls, new driveway, gate, drainage, lights, fencing, irrigation, deer proofing, and approvals from multiple neighbors with our bizarre property lines. Johnny and his team handled most of the tasks and served as the contractor on the jobs that needed to be subbed out. Everything was well thought out, unexpected issues were brought to my attention and resolved, and the project went about as smooth as you could imagine with all the parties involved. There was no nickel and diming- Johnny was always looking for ways to save money or reallocate to get more bang for the buck. Not to mention being open and flexible to my non-conventional, contemporary/tropical/eclectic tastes. We couldn't be happier with our new front yard
Last but not least, Johnny and the team are great guys with the highest integrity. Really looking forward to having the Bon Terra team back in the coming months to redo our backyard!

We are so lucky to find Bon Terra and Johnny Fort - they did an exceptional job from start to finish. Johnny listened closely to our goals and our concerns for our sloped, sunny yard. He was able to come up with many solutions that were both affordable and practical. He understood instantly what our style of living was in our outdoor space and what our needs were in terms of easy care and drought tolerance. There was a lot of "editing' that needed to be done of plants we already had (it was quite a jumble) and he knows his stuff - and came up with many great options for us that really improved the garden's look.
Finally, Johnny and his crew were always on time, pleasant to have around, tidied up after everything they did, right away. It was quickly apparent that if Johnny said it would be done in a certain way, at a certain time it was DONE.
We really are thrilled with his great work and fantastic attitude - hopefully we'll get him back in the Spring to help us sort out our front yard next!

Johnny and his team developed a wonderful plan for our large, sloped front yard. He did an amazing job of identifying our priorities and helping us make tradeoffs in a complicated design. He also recommended a perfect blend of California native and low-water plants which had style and visual impact. At night, the .ighting is subtle and highlights the best parts of the garden. The end result is easily the best feature of our home, and we feel relaxed every time we drive up our our street and see our landscaping.

We had a truly fabulous experience with Johnny and Bon Terra Landscapes. Our property was in serious need of a makeover and Johnny and his team did a great job all of the unsightly plants, creating a great mix of new plants and grasses, and recommending a nice lighting combination to highlight the design. Johnny with Bon Terra Landscapes is absolutely WONDERFUL! We had a last minute project that we needed done right away & wanted to stay within a specific budget. He went above & beyond to accommodate us & our yard looks amazing! We initially received an estimate from another company in Marin that was over two times the cost of what we paid Bon Terra... Not to mention the fact that Bon Terra did more work than that initial proposal from the other company.
